Reduce cardinality

High-cardinality attributes (user IDs, URLs with IDs, request IDs as labels) blow up storage and slow queries. This guide covers where to trim.

• Drop or hash high-cardinality attributes at the gateway.
• Prefer route templates (/users/:id) over raw paths.
• Keep metric label sets small; put detail on traces instead.
